Event: Coastal Protection Act Letter Writing Workshop May 8th

The government’s failure to proclaim the Coastal Protection Act is jeopardizing ecosystems and communities across the province. The Ecology Action Centre (EAC) is hosting a Rally for the Coastal Protection Act in Halifax on May 8th, and ACAP Cape Breton and the Climate Change Task Force are hosting a drop-in letter writing and video recording workshop to show our support.
For those interested in taking (constructive) action, we'll be sharing some background materials, useful talking and writing points, and some action items you can address to your local MLA, as well as provincial leaders and ministers. We’ll also have a camera set up where you can drop in and record a short video message about why coastal protection is important to you.
WHEN: 3:30 PM -5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8th
WHERE: 90 Esplanade, Sydney, NS (ACAP CB office)
If you have questions, please reach out to: info[@]acapcb.ns.ca. If you can't make it in person, but are still concerned, we encourage you to give your local MLA a call and/or email: https://nslegislature.ca/members/profiles/contact
*Reminder, office staff at both local MLA offices and provincial offices are trying to do their jobs and are deserving of respect.*
