What is ACAP?
ACAP Cape Breton is an environmental non-profit organization that offers the knowledge that Cape Bretoners need to make greener choices, and works directly on practical solutions that help protect and restore our natural environment.
The work spans four core areas: Habitat Restoration, Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Education, and Waste Diversion.
They weave considerations of climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation into all of their work.
ACAP offers a variety of services including forest and stream restoration, hands-on environmental education, special events, community cleanups, internship placements, volunteer opportunities and so much more!
Rob Harris is the Vice President of Program Delivery and Operations with the Clean Foundation. A Cape Breton champion, Rob is a lifelong Sydney resident with a passion for public history and music.
What is the Clean Foundation?
The Clean Foundation promotes green solutions for today and supports the environmental leaders of tomorrow. They are a Nova Scotia-based independent, non-governmental environmental charity that began in 1988. The Clean Foundation supports the fair transition to a cleaner economy and greener society. To achieve this, they work collaboratively with our many partners to:
- Reduce energy poverty
- Promote social equity and support historically marginalized communities
