Ecology Action Centre: CCTF Wins Bubby Mooers Award

The Climate Change Task Force Unama'ki/Cape Breton were this year's third-place winner of the 2023 Bubby Mooers Award!
The award was announced at the Ecology Action Centre's 2023 Annual General Meeting, on September 19th.
Here is some information about the award, quoted from the Ecology Action Centre:
An award created in memory of Bubby Mooers. A carpenter by profession, he was also well known for his exceptional folk art. As an active EAC member he gave generously of his time, with the EAC’s annual Garden Party auction benefitting regularly from Bubby’s humorous and sensitive donated artwork.
The Bubby Mooers Award is given to an individual or group who has given of themselves, either over time or in the past year, to environmental issues in Nova Scotia and to the Ecology Action Centre in particular.
The CCTF was nominated "For their dedication and enthusiasm in working to promote climate awareness and action around Unama'ki Cape Breton. They are a resourceful and dedicated group of citizens without core funding (yet!) who are doing really excellent education, advocacy, community mobilization work around climate. Their citizen-driven climate leadership is an example for communities around the province."
Thank you Ecology Action Centre for acknowledging our efforts. We will continue to strive together for environmental justice!
