Making Waves: Ride for Coastal Protection Aug. 24th

Hello, friends!

Are you passionate about protecting our beautiful coastline? Join the CCTF for a bike ride along the stunning Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, and show your support for the Coastal Protection Act!

We're biking a picturesque 12km stretch from Troy Station to Christy's Look-Off and back, making it a 24km round trip. This level trail offers breathtaking views and is perfect for cyclists of all skill levels. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of Cape Breton while supporting an important cause. Bring your camera for some fantastic photo ops along the way!

When: Saturday, August 24th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (rain date: Sunday, August 25th).
Where: The official ride will begin at Troy Station trailhead (civic: 1020 Route 19); however, cyclists can start at whatever location they deem appropriate. We will aim to meet as a group at 12:00 PM at Christy's Look-Off for a group photo.

Event Highlights:

  • Photo Op: Bring your cameras and phones to capture the breathtaking coastal views. Share your photos on social media to show your support for the Coastal Protection Act (CPA). Tag your posts with #CoastalProtectionActNow
  • Group Photo: Be at Christy's Look-Off by 12:00 PM for a group photo.
  • Petition Signing: Show your support by signing the petition for coastal protection. Petitions will be available at Christy's Look-Off
  • Banner and Signs: We'll have a banner and signs for photos. Feel free to bring your own signs or print smaller ones to display while cycling.
  • Alternate Route: Cyclists can also start from Walker's Cove and head south to Christy's Look-Off, aiming to arrive by 12:00 PM.

Additional Information:
